Able Tasman Spring Walk --- Awaroa to Tonga Quarry
As in previous years the Social Climbers appeared to have saved up their annual good weather allocation for this trip.
The day just sparkled. Wilsons gave us special attention and our own guide, Lucy. A walk developed into a stroll through the social history of the bay. So another gap had been filled in the year by year Rutherford Probus plan to complete the Abel Tasman Track
in stages. For those of limited New Zealand heritage and incapable of correctly pronouncing Awaroa without sounding as if they were trying to swallow a golf ball, they discovered the actual name is Big River Inlet but I admit it doesn’t have the same

This will be a slow walk to take in the views from Dodson Valley to Botanical Hill.
Bring a cuppa to have before setting off. Lunch will be at Founders
Brewery and Cafe.
